Hello, I’m Joel Goodman, a qualified school teacher based in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire. I'm looking forward to work with local pupils, helping them build confidence and a genuine enjoyment of maths. I am able to offer lessons in Sawbridgeworth, Harlow and Bishop's Stortford.

The most common option for private tuition is a weekly one-hour lesson. However, you may also consider an intensive boot camp during the school holidays, which includes daily lessons. With 15 years of experience in private tutoring for both maths and music, and as a qualified school teacher, I bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to my teaching. While I initially focused on music tuition, my love for maths led me to support some of my music students who were struggling with the subject. I founded Epping Music School in 2021, which continues to thrive.

My teaching philosophy is all about making learning fun and engaging. I believe that laughter and enjoyment are key to effective learning, especially for primary-aged children. I take the time to connect with my students by incorporating their hobbies, favorite celebrities, football teams, and general interests into our lessons. This approach not only makes the subject more relatable but also ensures that students look forward to their sessions.

I offer lessons in the comfort of your own home, providing a safe and supportive environment for learning. I can share a link to my DBS certificate via the government website, and I am fully insured.
